Well am never good at this but I will give it a go.
I first learned to program when I was but a child, my dad should me the basic using BASIC on the old acorn electron.
For the people who are reading this and don’t know what that is I have attached a photo of one, retro I know and the best thing is I still have it.
Well I loved programming in high school shame my school was so far behind the times at that point we were taught TRUE BASIC, after high school I went to college to Software Development, but I dropped out as I never liked any the classes didn’t involve coding. that point I was taught VB6 which I loved.
That’s when my software developer career went on hold of a good 4 or 5 year, then one of my friend got me a focus testes job for 2 weeks with Rock Star North, who were so impressed with me they offered me a short-term contract on GTA 4(my name is in the credits) so after working with then for some months, my contract ended and I start looking for a new job, I applied for a Software Tests job with my current company and after spending every free minute re-learning to code in VB.Net I became a Software Developer.
So uni and a degrees is not everything, as long as your willing to work, but don’t get me wrong it would have been a lot easier if I had done uni but its not for everyone.
Well that’s basically all about me as a software developer
